Be-EPart aimed to enhance understanding of the role and functioning of the European Parliament, encourage a wider young public interest in the decisional process, & which provide a platform for those young citizens to raise issues which are important to them, promoting also their active citizenship (according to the European Year of 2013).

In the run up to the 2014 European elections, the partners involved young journalists (newspaper, TV, radio, web) & young teachers in a specific training on the role, activities, functioning of the European Parliament. Through their job, in fact, they acted as multipliers actors in the local community, in particular with young people.

The project explored innovative approaches and practices to communicate the role of the European Parliament, its activities and priorities. In particular, the partners involved in the project, analyzed the techniques of peer education and implemented it for a group of journalists & teachers in the partners’ countries. 


PLAYING FOR LEARNING / JOUER POUR APPRENDRE (PLALE), Grundvig project

In a society that hesitates between globalization, “alter mondialization”, planetary village, crumbling, regionalization, and separation, what role could culture, literature, theatre, the study of languages still play? Could the world, which seems to have buried the Right, the Beautiful, the Harmonious, the Work of Art and seems to have got rid of the demons of totalitarianism, violence, arrogance, indifference, selfishness still be saved? Could the teaching and learning of foreign languages contribute to that? Doesn’t the excess of communication risk to make us deaf because of the uproar of the non-communication, doesn’t this lead to an absolute Babel due to the technological standardization?
These are only few questions that the artist and the researcher ask themselves/ us in this Zeit der Dürftigkeit (Heidegger), time of the few, and of the little, but also time of interrogation according to the Romanian philosopher Constantin Noica.
Paradoxically, the state of Crisis incites, on the one hand, to the research of the roots, of the artistic and theatrical traditions, and on the other hand to the interrogation of the recent past (The History of Romania within the European context), to the exceeding of the "little” of the speaking and the theatrical I in order to get the distinction and the difference, in order to re-find the self, and it also incites to the learning of foreign languages or, more exactly, of living languages.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
General objectives: to promote
  • the L2 acquisition for adults by using a methodology able to be efficient with pleasure and without any effort
  • the development of digital competences
  • the mutual knowledge among adults coming from different cultures/languages able to open their mind towards the diversity
Specific objectives:
  • To study foreign languages by means of a theatrical play in a theatrical and non- theatrical space (like a park, a hall, etc.)
  • To use language acts in communication (ask questions in order to ask for information, invite, answer and give information, etc.);
  • To use a variety of language forms (gestures, movement, mimics) and semiotic systems (dancing, song, costumes, masks) in order to express oneself, send a message, communicate;
  • To invest in the non-scholarly, non-theatrical space, going out of school in order to communicate in a more authentic way (in a restaurant, in a shopping center; etc.);
  • To make the non-scholarly public if not conscious of the necessity to learn one or more foreign languages at least more open, more attentive to the other and to his language;
  • To communicate with « the near far » by means of local traditions preserved in the countryside;
  • To preserve one’s cultural identity in order to help him to better integrate within the European Union;
  • To draw on tradition in order to revitalize contemporary theater and the teaching-learning of the foreign languages.

The Partners shared practices and produced common tools that can facilitate:
  • increased knowledge and awareness of the linguistic diversity in each context, 
  • the development of LAs from different categories of adult subjects, 
  • the documentation of the process of constructing one's LA, 
  • joint analysis of the finished products. 

INOVACOM – Curricular innovations for the development of pedagogical competences for teachers of Language and communication through the initial training programmes

The research objectives were: 
  • the analysis of current curricular documents for the disciplines in the Language and communication curricular area at the level of the programmes for teachers’ initial training; 
  • the identification of the level of development for the competences of pedagogical competences for the disciplines in the Language and communication curricular area at the level of the programmes of initial training; 
  • the investigation of the possibilities of curricular innovation from the perspective of developing pedagogical competences for teachers of Language and communication; 
  • exploring the effect of the innovative curricular model we propose at the level of teaching for students participating Romanian programmes for teachers’ initial training and at the level of pedagogical training for trainers from universities and application schools. 

The subjects involved in the research: 200 students from the Romanian programmes of initial training and 100 trainers from universities and schools of application in the field of Language and communication. 


KALECO (« Kaléidoscope: langues en couleurs »)

The consortium driving the project was made up of partners from countries where the populations have varying degrees of foreign language capability, from Sweden, Romania and Estonia where competence in other languages is high to Great Britain and Italy where, for different reasons, multilingual competence is less common. 
The partnership of 11 different institutions (universities, local authorities, cultural associations, training bodies, educational advisory groups) represented 8 different countries, each with its own tapestry of language history and geography. 

The project aimed to design and then pilot a number of initiatives which will provide the opportunity for those involved to enjoy engagement with learning languages and becoming plurilingual.
