DOMAIN: LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

Study programmes:

FRENCH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE - ROMANIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE
ROMANIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE - ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE
Undergraduate students who study English, Romanian or French languages and literatures acquire BA degree. They may also obtain the qualification of teacher of English language and French/Romanian language, which is conditioned by their attending the in-service teacher training courses provided by the Teacher Training Department.
Duration: 3 years of day time (full-time) studies. The academic year starts on the 1st of October and ends at the end of June.
Degree awarded: bachelor's degree in English Philology (BA level)

The programmes offer courses and seminars (a total of 180 ECTS credits) that focus on:
  • English, French and Romanian language;
  • English, French and/or Romanian literature, culture and civilisation;
  • Communication in English and/or French.
At the end of the 3 years, the students sit in for the diploma examination, consisting of:
  • an oral examination in a discipline at their choice (English, French or Romanian, depending on their majors and minors);
  • the public defence of their diploma papers.


DOMAIN: APPLIED MODERN LANGUAGES 

 Programme: TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION (ENGLISH, FRENCH)
The programme trains students for various translation-related professions involving the use of English, French and Romanian, including the teaching of English in school.
 The programme offers courses and seminars that focus on:
  • English, French and Romanian language; German is also an elective course.
  • Translation and interpretation;
  • English and French culture and civilisation;
  • Communication in English and French using professional registers.
